NGC's 100,000th Wind Gearbox rolled off

NGC’s 100,000th wind main gearbox rolled off on March 17th in Jinhu Plant. More than 100 people, among them wind turbine manufacturers, wind power owners, and industry association experts, attended the event of this important milestone.

The 100,000th wind main gearbox is a fully integrated 8.5MW main gearbox based on the same platform as the 16-18MW model, which has won the Gold Award for Drivetrains 2022 by renowned global wind industry magazine WINDPOWER MONTHLY. A model representing NGC's future multi-technical route coverage and high-quality development of the whole platform.

NGC has been active in the wind energy industry for 20 years. During these two decades, NGC has continuously achieved technological innovation, resulting in a complete product platform coverage ranging from 750 kW to 18 MW. In addition, production was optimized, production capacities expanded, and the service concept improved.

NGC's production sites are at Nanjing, Baotou, Jinhu and India. With the recently opened site in Jinhu as the 4th and largest, NGC's total production capacity exceeds 50GW. In addition, NGC offers a worldwide gearbox service availability beyond the Chinese national border via the branches in the United States, Germany, Singapore and India.

Hu Jichun, President of NGC Group, put it this way in his speech at the celebration: “In the future, large-scale, intelligent, and digital will become the development direction of the global wind power industry. NGC will adhere to mutual progress, the development of all platform technologies, collaborative optimization and upgrading of double-feed, semi-integrated medium speed, and fully integrated medium speed technologies.” And Mr. Gu Xiaobin, Executive Director of NGC Group and President of the wind power business unit, adds: “Only by constantly improving technology and quality, we can provide a steady stream of power for the competitiveness of industries.”
