NGC presented multi-platform and high-quality gearbox developments at China Wind Power 2023

China Wind Power, the country’s large wind energy show took again place in Beijing this October after a two-year hiatus. NGC was among the 1,000 exhibitors. Besides product and development news, the overall question of interest this year was: how to “build a stable global supply chain and a new joint future for energy transformation”.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • NGC's new dual-feedback main gearboxes

NGC booth at China Windpower 2023

New dual-feedback main gearboxes in a power range of 9MW to 10MW for use in onshore and offshore wind turbines meets the market demands for high-speed ratios of large blades and high-torque densities. The gearboxes feature an integrated output end and main shaft, as well as a tertiary planetary structure and a primary parallel structure. The rated torque coverage is 12,500 kNm.

The gearboxes are applicable for a wide range of environments and show a high cost-performance ratio. Maintenance and service can be carried out easily on the tower.
These products have gained quite a popularity and are already being used by multiple wind turbine manufacturers as a platform product.

  • Determination for coordinated development for multi-platform technology

NGC | Guest speaker at the China Windpower forum

Wind energy is an essential part in realizing the dual-carbon goal in China. With this in mind, Gu Xiaobin, executive director of NGC Group, president of its Wind Energy Business Division, and speaker at the forum on “Development Prospects of Wind Power Technology in the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Era”  highlighted NGC's determination to pursue progress and development in multi-platform technology, along with the coordinated optimization and upgrade of dual-feedback, semi-integrated and semi-direct drives, as well as fully-integrated and semi-direct drive technologies.

  • Stable supply chain as a mandatory requirement

NGC took the chance to have deep conversations with customers and partners about ensuring a stable supply chain to keep quality and reliability high.
